Where is a good place to find live jazz or blues music near San Jose, CA for 19 year olds?

I want to take my boyfriend somewhere with either live jazz or blues music, preferably with good bass, for our anniversary. I can’t find any good places online and do not really know what I am looking for anyways. Please let me know if you know of any places.
