What does the old blues music term "I'm gonna dust my broom" mean?

I’m a 64 year old white guy who found the blues when country went Hollywood. It stirs the soul and I love it. Does anyone know the significance of the pre-Muddy Waters term: "dust my broom"? Thanks!
