Have a dance to this. THIS is one of my favourite ragtime songs because it’s kind of… boogie-woogie :) This uplifting rag was published in 1915 by the jazzy Jelly Roll Morton. Image is the cover page to the sheet music, complete with a ‘convincing’ Windows Movie Maker ‘old’ effect… ;) I DO NOT claim to own the copyright of this audio, I just uploaded it to share the jolly ragtime love. :)

HAY FEVER BLUES

This is a song I wrote and recorded back in the spring of 1984. I played the instruments myself, using a four-track recorder and an antique rhythm machine. The sneezing was spontaneously recorded on a separate track whenever my nose started to itch. As for the importance of this song in regard to hay fever as a major topic in pop songs such as “Keep on Running” by the Spencer Davis Group, Dylan’s “Blowing in the Wind”, etc, go to my youtube video “Keep on Running: Hay Fever in Pop Songs”: youtube.com NOTE: In contrast to what some self-appointed sociolinguists want us to believe, “Thar she blows!” is not a whaling expression. Actually, it was coined by Bjoern Weizenkeim, a retired German rock musician and hay fever victim from Brochterbeck, during a severe sneezing fit. His English was somewhat limited, which is why he used the word “she” – in German a nose is actually a female noun (“die” Nase). . . Copyright 2008 by Bernd Wahlbrinck . .

Blues in Perigord – Frédéric Mesnier

Hi, Summer time is good period for playing guitar. Here is my second recording in two weeks ! A kind of blues. The part with harmonics is a bit tricky. Still need some time to get it smooth. I wrote the theme years ago and finalized the piece this week. Sheet music, Tab & MP3: www.fredericmesnier.com Enjoy! Fred

Mean Man Blues aka Tigers Wife Blues

LOL…..sorry for the typical rough start! You might wonder WHY does this woman always spin and fall? No, not drinkin’…I did AFTER the vid, but not before!;-).the XXXB is hangover material, yikes, some mean pale ale……what you cannot see is that I’m working in about 2 by 2 feet of foot space, or less. There is plenty stuff to the left and right of the camera on tripod,..including an amp on the floor right at my feet…:-) and wires everywhere…. The new instrument is a delight, a road worn Baritone Harmony uke…I don’t mind bumps and bruises, in a well love instrument! .Somebody loved and played this alot, and it has a nice mellow tone. It has a replacement back which is not perfect and unvarnised, and some pinholes on the front…I suspect it is late 40s early 50s…dunno what I’ve tuned it to….just by ear, so I tuned, and began to play..a lil markley pickup is stuck on with a piece of rubber eraser,….. ran the uke thru my fender keyboard amp, and vocals this time thru the roland mini. (as opposed to last amp set up, father time).like to get a little reverb on my voice. LONG INTRO is really a sound sample, …it runs into the song, eventually. Thanks for listening!:-) be sure and see my note at the bitter end…..I love my audience, you are the best in the world….and you are all over the world! SWAK XOs, Laurie

As my friend Dog Man says “It is not the dog, but the owner that is the problem and pit bulls are not for everyone.” Featuring: John Shipe – Singer and Songwriter – www.JohnShipe.com song available at http Brix and Honey – red nosed pit bulls Special guest appearances by: Roo and Wallace – WallaceThePitbull.com (taped by Joshua Grenell) Helen and PitBull Sharky – http Coach Steve Lang and Big Boy Linda Blair – LindaBlairWorldHeart.org Also appearing Amy Wray (provided additional footage) Jennie Wong – Fetch! Pet Care of LA South Bay John Tinio – Fetch! Pet Care of LA South Bay Joshua Salinas – Fetch! Pet Care of LA South Bay Angelica Fleiss Zoey Attendees at Dog Man’s free pit bull training / socialization class at the LA Coliseum. Directed by Jeff Fleiss PIT BULL BLUES by John Shipe People see me walking down the street they all run and hide. I used to take it personally now I take it in strides. I got nothing against no one I wouldn’t hurt a fly. People seem to think I’m mean and here’s why, and here’s why I’m a pitbull, a big brown red nose pitbull, a tooth baring muscle bound pitbull I look like I can tear the seal off a loco motive freight train. People park three spaces away when I’m waiting in the car. All the kids in the neighborhood they never walk through my yard
