The biography that I just received is terrific. I would like to know how to contact him. The Louis Armstrong Foundation in New Orleans doesn’t seem to exist. I’ve called the Evergreen Plantation and haven’t gotten too much help there either. I’d appreciate any clues you may have that I can track down.
Thanks!

I was listening to Charlie Parker today, and it made me realize how influential he was on not only the succeeding saxophonists, but musicians of other genres as well. Not as many Rock enthusiasts know who Charlie Parker is, but I’m pretty sure everyone knows who Louis Armstrong is. So, who has more of an impact on THE MUSIC solely, not society, Louis Armstrong or Robert Johnson?

Has louis armstrong experienced racism and if yes could you tell me more about the racism that happened?
i have to find about a person who has experienced racism but im not sure who to chose and if he did experienced racism it would be easier because if he had to put up with racism he overcame it with his music ?

I’m making an homage to Louis Armstrong and Ray Charles and I want to include some quotes. They can’t be too long though. Thanks!

Doing a Black History Month Project on Louis Armstrong, and my friend is doing one on Miles Davis. My history teacher said that since they were both Trumpet players to see if they knew each other.
But I can’t find anything anywhere. If anyone knows whether they did or not, and if they did could I have the link to an article or something if that’s where you found it.
Kthx~

I know the question sounds a bit weird.
But I’m looking for "Summertime" sung by a female vocalist that has thick "juicy" rich voice similar to Louis Armstrong. I don’t remember where I heard it or when.
I went through lots of previews on iTunes , but couldn’t find what I like.
Any suggestions?

His life, his achievements, his career, etc. I’m creating a PowerPoint about him for my Literature class.
It’s not homework, you idiot. (Some dumb ____ said I should do my homework. I never said it was). Our teacher suggested we do something about a famous person (yes, very broad suggestion) from the 1920s. Louis Armstrong was my choice. I basically need to know his key achievements and his career.

For history we have to make a comparison between a famous person and a modern day person from at least 2000. I’m not sure who to compare Louis Armstrong to. I was thinking Lady Gaga or Michael Jackson because both have influenced music. Which one should I do, or is there somebody better?
