Jim Hession/Jelly Roll Morton/ Wolverine Blues

www.artistopia.com This piece was written early in Jelly Roll’s career in Detroit as “The Wolverines”. It was later published in 1923 by Melrose and the Spikes Brothers, who added the word “blues” to the title, knowing that it would increase sales. It is not a blues,but a standard 32 bar chorus with a verse. The sheet music features the New Orleans Rhythm Kings who introduced this version of the tune in 1923.

This machine was make in collaboration of the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatoire and the Sharon Wick Engineer department of the University of Iowa . 97% percent of the machine’s pieces are actually from the John Deere Industry of Irrigation spare parts. In order to construct this machine, 13029 hours were spent. Now it can been seen at the University of Matthew Gerhard Alumni.
