Trouble Blues
Here’s a little blues for you I call “Long Island Shuffle”.
Recorded in 2007. Go to www.danburnett.co.uk for latest news and gig dates.
The latest. Leave me comments, criticise and all that. And please enjoy it. (There are quite a few people who seem to think this is a sped up video; firstly to do this would mess up the sound – and would render this video completely pointless. I am not trying to trick anyone)
Hey, In this video I talk about a few vartiations on the 12 bar blues and some cool endings that I use in the Key of G. Hope this helps, and please leave a comment. Thanks, Ben
Movie recorded at a concert in Birmingham, March 2010. This tune harks back to the golden ages of Boogie Woogie and is generally credited as being an old Pete Johnson and Big Joe Turner song, as indeed Jools’ himself credits this at the end. Great ‘Big Band’ with the twelve strong horn section {5 saxophones, 4 trombones and 3 trumpets} greatly adding to the Boogie/Swing feel of the piece, with Jools as ever playing some great stuff at the piano. On a personal note, due to the small stage there was a very unusual stage placing of the Orchestra Section on Jool’s side of the stage, where I took up my position – my goodness, what an amazingly powerful feeling to be close-up to the guys playing their instruments!
This a tribute to an untitled improvisational James Booker piece. You can now find The Boogie Woogie Kid fan page on Facebook!
