LOL…..sorry for the typical rough start! You might wonder WHY does this woman always spin and fall? No, not drinkin’…I did AFTER the vid, but not before!;-).the XXXB is hangover material, yikes, some mean pale ale……what you cannot see is that I’m working in about 2 by 2 feet of foot space, or less. There is plenty stuff to the left and right of the camera on tripod,..including an amp on the floor right at my feet…:-) and wires everywhere…. The new instrument is a delight, a road worn Baritone Harmony uke…I don’t mind bumps and bruises, in a well love instrument! .Somebody loved and played this alot, and it has a nice mellow tone. It has a replacement back which is not perfect and unvarnised, and some pinholes on the front…I suspect it is late 40s early 50s…dunno what I’ve tuned it to….just by ear, so I tuned, and began to play..a lil markley pickup is stuck on with a piece of rubber eraser,….. ran the uke thru my fender keyboard amp, and vocals this time thru the roland mini. (as opposed to last amp set up, father time).like to get a little reverb on my voice. LONG INTRO is really a sound sample, …it runs into the song, eventually. Thanks for listening!:-) be sure and see my note at the bitter end…..I love my audience, you are the best in the world….and you are all over the world! SWAK XOs, Laurie

Girl sings about her new 3G iPhone… and how lame it is. for more, go to: www.mahalodaily.com Music by Leah D’Emilio Lyrics by Michael Gallagher & Leah D’Emilio ——————– “3G iPHONE BLUES” I woke up this morning on Friday, July 11, excited to go to the Apple Store to buy my slice of heaven. I waited in line for 3 hours to get mine white, 16 gigabytes for two-ninety-nine. The phone is thinner, I felt like a winner, but there was more to buy. They gave me a two year contract from AT&T, then I started to cry. Text messaging is not for free. One-hundred more dollars for MobileMe. And I’m not a fan of your monthly plan. I’m throwing this contract in the garbage can. ‘Cause the new 3G has let me down. I can’t get a signal in my rural town. The camera is whack. Its got a plastic back. I’ve given too much money to the folks at Mac. Did you foresee that people like me wouldn’t be satisfied with your technology? You thought your next generation would sweep across the nation, but your product doesn’t live up to its expectations. Did you foresee that we would be unhappy? Did you foresee that we would go and buy the new Blackberry?
Levin G 75 1931 – Vintage guitar banjo!! Just for fun my friends, I’d like to present some of the vintage acoustic instruments that I collect. A swedish brand called “LEVIN” Was named Goya in the US.. I got a WHOLE lot of these old ones and I’ll post a video here now and then.. On 27 July 1900, Herman Carlson Levin began building his wonderful stringed instruments in a small workshop in Gothenburg. My great passion is collecting these instruments that, to my eyes (and ears), were some of the best guitars ever built.. Certainly, many people today know of Levin for its fine old arch-top guitars or its plainer and not quite so fine-sounding beginners’ instruments from the 50s and 60s. But long before this, Levin was top of its class in Europe and other parts of the world. It already achieved a high-point as an instrument maker at the 1907 World’s Fair in Madrid, where it won the gold medal for the best guitar. Remember, this was in the Spanish guitar builders’ home territory. Not only that, Levin was awarded the exhibition’s Grand Prix. More info on these instruments here: www.johaneliasson.com
