Know any good soul and blues artists?

I love soul/blues music but it’s just so hard to find… stuff like Aretha Franklin and James Brown. Can someone please point me in the direction of some artists that I might like? Even better would be if you could tell me exactly what it is you like about them. The more the better! Thanks guys! =)
Names of specific albums would be even better. lol
